Three Crosses Distilling Company
Three Crosses is the first legal distillery in Powhatan County, Virginia. We proudly hand-craft spirits to our exacting standards. Truly a hobby that got out of hand, our current 150- and 250-gallon stills are hand built in Missouri by Affordable Distilling Company. Together, we have created an environment where people can come in, slow down, enjoy each other’s company, and visit face to face while enjoying handcrafted spirits. That's what Three Crosses Distilling Co. is all about and Powhatan and the nearby communities have been so welcoming in supporting this business climate.
To that end, we strive to use products sourced as locally as possible. The corn that is used for our Route 13 Moonshine is grown in Powhatan County by Kevin Engle, a Virginia farmer with fields in both Powhatan and Hanover Counties. Our rye for both our Three Crosses American Whiskey and Noble Hound Ryes comes from Loudon County, VA by way of Three Monkeys Farm. You'll find cheese and honey from local providers right on our shelves, as well.
While we'd love to get sugar and molasses for our Crossed Rifles Rums, they simply aren't grown here commercially anymore. So, we sourced them from a seventh generation sugar consortium, Lula-Westfield in Belle Rose, Louisiana. Both the Lula and Westfield sugar processing plants date back to the late 1800s.
As we continue to develop and roll out new spirits, we intend to continue to source as many ingredients as possible from local growers and suppliers.
Come on out, take a rest, and enjoy our specialty crafted small batch spirits as you experience first-hand what sets us apart. There will always be a chair and a glass waiting for you!
